EV charging stations in Turkey

Turkey has 13,487 public charging stations, run by 185 operators and spread across all 81 provinces. 7,903 of them are fast DC, 5,584 are standard AC, and 3,702 deliver 150 kW or more. Driving an EV from Georgia into Turkey is now a question of planning, not of risk.

What changes the moment you cross the border

Turkey charges to the European standard. Fast charging runs on CCS2, slow charging on Type 2, and there is effectively nothing else: CHAdeMO is on just 193 stations, and GB/T on none at all.

That single sentence matters most to drivers coming from Georgia. GB/T is ordinary in Georgia because a large share of imported cars are Chinese and arrive with that inlet. In Turkey such a car cannot fast charge at all. If your car also has CCS2 you are fine; if it only has GB/T, all that is left is slow Type 2 charging, and only where the car has a Type 2 inlet. Check which inlet you actually have before planning the drive.

What charging costs in Turkey

Turkish operators publish national tariffs, so the same network costs the same in İstanbul and in Trabzon. The median fast DC price is 14.74 ₺ per kWh, ranging from 8.99 ₺ to 15.90 ₺. On AC the median is 9.99 ₺, ranging from 8.50 ₺ to 11.99 ₺. 69 percent of stations publish a tariff.

A practical yardstick: charging a 60 kWh battery from 20 to 80 percent means 36 kWh, which at the median tariff is about 531 lira. Prices are in lira and the exchange rate moves, so convert on the day you travel.

Chargers by province

Every one of Turkey's 81 provinces has public chargers. The table is ordered by station count, and the 40 largest provinces plus the ones nearest Georgia have a page of their own.

Operators

Turkey has 185 licensed operators, but a handful of large networks define the market. The biggest is ZES with 1,945 stations, then Trugo with 1,389. The thirty largest are below.

The tariff column is the operator’s median DC price in lira. Tariffs are indicative and published by the operator.

The road from the Georgian border

Between the Sarp border gate and Trabzon there are 70 fast chargers within 5 km of the coastal road, 29 of them rated 150 kW or more. The longest stretch between two neighbouring chargers is about 40 km.

Live status and the app

The Turkish registry does not publish whether a charger is busy right now, so for Turkish stations the app shows the connector count and the tariff rather than free bays. In Georgia live status works and refreshes in real time.

In the app, Turkey is switched on in Settings, in the country list. Route planning needs no switch at all: if the route crosses Turkey, the Turkish chargers are downloaded automatically and counted into the stops.
